Miles Building

Miles and Sail Training the right way. One of the best ways to add miles to your RYA / IYT Logbook.

Offshore passages, night hours and skipper time — logged, signed and genuinely earned towards Yachtmaster.

Overview

Not a delivery. A working passage.

Many mile-building trips are deliveries with paying passengers. Ours are not. You run watches, you plan the legs, you take the boat in and out, and you are debriefed every day by a Yachtmaster Instructor.

Crews are capped at five. Everyone stands watch as mate and as skipper, and everyone leaves with a signed record of miles, nights and days at sea.

Programme

How a passage unfolds.

Day 1

Briefing, passage planning, watch system and safety brief. Departure at dusk.

Days 2–4

Continuous offshore passage. Celestial-aware navigation, sail changes, night watches.

Days 5–7

Coastal pilotage into remote anchorages, close-quarters handling, crew rotation of skipper role.

Day 8

Debrief, logbook signing and qualifying-mile certification.

Calendar 2026 – 2027
